Can you fletch in soul wars

That'll fix it for sure! Please just force the use of balance portal at least on the more popular worlds, last night I hopped through every soul wars world and they were ALL either dead or getting stacked. Winning on teams like that is not even enjoyable, all I want is some fair fights win or lose, but it feels like a complete stomp either time. Doing the same for castle wars on the main world would not hurt either BTW, and that would also make it much more difficult to sabotage with barricades in that minigame.

Shoutouts to the one guy who's been ruining games for a decade strong and is still at it, saw him at the soul wars arena yesterday. Pleased to see this. After 30 mins of Soul Wars it was pretty clear to me that 1 there should be no blue or red side waiting room, just a portal that puts everyone in the same holding area and 2 you shouldn't know what side you're on until you're ingame.

Unsure if the themed worlds should use the above logic only, or if it should be all worlds. Played one game and quit. Spent the whole game frozen while maxed players specced me down. Completely unfun. Randomise teams only please. Clans will just ruin this minigame otherwise, feels like they already are tbh. Zeal rewards are a little unbalanced. Maybe set a base rate of 5 points to the winning team to every member. And 2 to the losing team. Nerf group spells especially freezes by disallowing or giving reduced damage or freeze time.

Getting frozen on the bridge at this point is a death sentence since it's spammed by mage guys at a time. This is literally part of pking, i dont think they should take it out. Just wear your range gear and pray mage.

In full ancestral, kodai, arc, ect your able land fairly often. For noobs, the inability to move, and spawn camping is not very fun. Please please please add specific worlds where lobbies are decided randomly.

I'm absolutely sure that Soul Wars will die if you don't create that function, because clans will decide which side wins and loses and it will lose all appeal long term. It's definitely best to have specific worlds be random and specific worlds be choose your side, to appease everyone. With the amount of gear at our disposal and so many with reductions players including myself can tank massive amounts with no effort.

Add a perk or class system into the minigame so you can pick it and have bonusses like relics for those unable to tribrid and do way switches within one game tick. They can just pick their favorite style, play and actually have fun.

After killing the Avatar and freely just remaining in the location to kill it right away, the avatar should get a massive boost for the first few seconds, essentially destroying ppl just camping it or have as someone else suggested ppl who kill the avatar teleport back.

Many people dont want to waste expensive runes in a minigame so this would also help a lot with balance. Free runes will just encourage even more barragers, which I imagine most people don't want.

Free ammo isn't really necessary with the free avas effect. Perhaps bandages could provide 15 seconds of freeze immunity with a 1 min cooldown if not already frozen? It will give players an incentive to grind the minigame long term. Changing how the grouping works will kill the minigame quicker. Instead it would be better to make the zeal received by the losing team less punishing.

If both winning and losing team get pretty much equal zeal, people would not mind to be in the losing team and spamming the red team is not necessary. Both team are putting in the same effort.

Just equalize the loadouts, like in LMS. This game is too unforgiving to new players and will just be a circlejerk of maxed mains in 2 weeks. I am enjoying Soul Wars but with some players having their main and alts to rig the match is unfair. I feel like doing damage to enemy players not necessarily being the one to kill them should award some kind of zeal. Burying bones anywhere could be nice, would it be able to turn the tide for a losing team? I feel like it's pretty impossible to come back from losing.

I just with the re spawn timer could be lowered a little. Can you add a scroll like Barbarian Assault that allows you to assign a few friends to your group, so if you make the change to add a singular lobby it'll still put your small group on the same team.

I feel like this would be awesome, but it would need to be limited to like slots or something to stop clans lol. Was thinking this, may be easier to copy over the party system from TOB because it doesn't reset after each completion or wipe and less work for setting up the party in my opinion. I understand it might devalue some of the items overall, but right now, with so few rewards to choose from, it's really the only place to sink the points for someone like me who made decent money from the crates k or so over 10 games , can't equip the cape, and isn't at a level where the exp makes a huge difference over traditional training methods.

I'm really salty that A. The combat level minimum was added B. There's no slayer exp reward. As a level 3 skiller I was really looking forward to soul wars. Now it's not even accessible and even if it were, it would be pointless other than for a chance at the pets. The green portal only concept is a horrible idea. There will always be a winning team, any changes to the team system will literally kill this minigame. It is no different to castle wars.

The people complaining about the team system are literally just playing the minigame because its new. They will stop in the next few days. Reward idea: An item that makes it cheaper to use magic in Soul wars and maybe also castle wars?

This can be really quite expensive, and especially as an Ironman player I feel like I can't justify spending the runes to really play soul wars "properly". While I think this is a decent idea, I still like the idea of sw being a gold sink. I'm not exactly sure how that could be counteracted.

Offer a chance to roll or buy "Nomad Armor pieces" which can simply be cosmetic or provide a prayer boost act as an upgraded version of proselyte perhaps? This may sound eliteist but to be honest I think all of the people crying for only green portal are just bad.

Two of my friends and I are literally able to change the outcome of most games. Yes, we are all in max gear but we are also going against plenty of people in max gear. The difference? We have thousands of hours of soulwars experience. We come from one of the old soulwars crashing clans from rs2 and know exactly how to win games. Once activity dies down this is going to be a alt-boostable pet and lets nip it in the bud. Make people actually play the minigame as opposed to splashing on 5 alts like they do in castle wars.

Frankly i think this is absolutely necessary on at least some worlds. Keeping a few where you can pick your teams would be nice for organized clan events, but for worlds where you're primarily going to be playing with and against random players, a randomly selected team will be much more fun.

A lot of you were leaving the waiting area unintentionally. To help, you we'll be adding a confirmation check when you request to leave. I think this is a good bandaid fix until the above is implemented, but it also encourages people to only try to get into the "winning" team as opposed to just joining the other side.

We'd love to hear your ideas for new rewards from the minigame! Let us know what you'd like to see. However, from one salty ironman who is horrendously bad at pvp and has absolutely zero desire to learn how to do maxed tribrid pking at LMS, please please please consider adding the msb i upgrade scroll to the Soul Wars reward shop.

There are plenty who will say that LMS isn't that bad and if you keep at it you will eventually be able to get a kill and then hide for the points required to buy said scroll. Those people are probably correct, but the fact is, it just isn't fun. I would rather spend or more Zeal to buy an msb i scroll ostensibly requiring hours and hours of playing Soul Wars than suffer through even one LMS game where I don't even stand a chance of succeeding.

Other than the above and my admittedly selfish reward request , I think Soul Wars is a great minigame, and these changes are going to make it even better. Good job Jagex! Hoping you all reach your lofty goals :.

Would it be possible to allow Clan versus Clan games similar to how Clan Wars work? But for the moment, having some worlds with random teams and some like how it currently works seems like a worthwhile change.

Perhaps in the future there could be some small party grouping that could allow players to use the random team, but still be kept together for these sorts of situations e. Camping the avatar spawn while having control in the middle and insta dropping his strength to 0 is how the faster games go with one team dominating the other.

Why were the rewards nerfed? They weren't OP even if you got max points everytime 4 games per hour at 60 points is 8 crates - which is around k if you are in max mage.

EDIT: I tried buying 20 crates. They halved it, better to do literally anything else in the game now. If you win every game with max points you need max mage you get k per hour. If you lose all games you get 20k per hour. I mean irons have way more criteria for balance than mains where ge value matters the most, lms for early irons gives you an ungodly amount of arrows but is shit gp for any main that has enough practice and game knowledge to brid.

We expected it to be the alternative worse to either train combat or get some decent GP. That is what would keep it alive.

I don't think so. It was supposed to be the place you go to get certain untradeables and imbues and hang out for inefficiency scape if you actually enjoy playing the game.

Too strong for irons what? If you can pk you go to LMS where you don't need all the fancy gears and get 10 times better rewards Its trash for irons but when something is trash people will say oh its probably good for irons You're lucky to get 3 points per lms game if you suck. All of the items from soul wars are long obsolete or insignificant for ironmen by the time they have the stats to actually contribute in the minigame. While I agree with rewards not really needing to be nerfed, the original soul wars from rs3 had pretty bad reward gambles as well.

It is meant to be a fun minigame not a moneymaker. Queued once today, dont plan on doing it again. Ice Barrage is single-handedly ruining the fun for me. I would love to see some sort of change to the freezing mechanic, perhaps a reduction in freeze duration, or temporary freeze immunity from all sources after being released from a freeze.

There is nothing more aggravating than getting frozen, waiting it out, then walking 3 steps and getting frozen by someone else right away. In the meantime it's too frustrating to play against.

I want to be able to move. If you have even one world where people can pick the teams it is going to be abused just as it is right now. People will only use those worlds for boosting their own account by flooding the other team with alts. One lobby and no indication which team you will be on until the game starts is the only way to prevent this.

Perhaps this could be implemented in Castle Wars as well? For consistency, bandages should work as they do in castle wars, which don't have the aforementioned delay. I agree with all of this, except buffing the xp significantly.

It doesn't take too long to acquire compared to bonecrusher and doesn't require charges like bonecrusher. It's meant to be low, passive xp. But, I can see that it needs more uses to even bother going for. Giving it an ability with the ashes, or adding it to the bonecrusher somehow and including bones, ashes and ghostly kills all-in-one would be very beneficial. As of right now, the ectoplasmator has very little beneficial use, this would improve that.

I'd rather it operate just like the bonecrusher without the extra XP. Have it be the equivalent thing for ashes and combine that with the bonecrusher necklace so it can all be one item.

Well my initial complaint with the item is that it seemed useless. Wiki doesn't even have a "ghostly creatures" category to go along with it.

Why did we need an item to give us prayer xp for killing ghosts? When the notable ghosts killed are aby specs and barrows? Do ankou count? Doubling the prayer gain from aby specs would put it around baby dragon bones buried. Wish is probably fine, but still the item seems nearly useless. It should've been an add on to the bonecrusher and have the ability to "auto-scatter" the new ashes. It should be shit xp at barrows, or people will do profit prayer, further crashing the price of barrows pieces, ruining the money making method.

This item is my biggest concern. The item as it stands is so bad, that the time it takes to acquire it could be used on green dragons. The green dragons would earn you more xp than the entire time you used the ectoplasmator.

I'm currently 94 slayer, so not 99, but also I've mostly stopped doing Abberant Spectre tasks. I've done a bit of barrows, I generally find it fun. Looking on the Wiki, seems like you can get around Dragon Bones an hour, around.

Which is experience if buried normally, experience if used at the Ectofuntus which is how I tend to use dragon bones, having Robin crush them for me, though I train mostly with Ensouled Heads for reasons. Obviously if you use the Chaos Altar your experience would be higher. If you use a Gilded Altar it would be slightly lower. Anyway, 2. Your activity bar will go red and you will not receive any points.

If your combat level is low, do some construction work around and contribute this way. Is pest control safe for hardcore ironman? Soul Wars Portals can be found in both Edgeville, west of the ruins, and in the caves of Ferox Enclave.

Players can use them to teleport to the lobby of the Soul Wars minigame on the Isle of Souls. Castle Wars Freeloaders just stand around and some of them AFK the arena doing nothing and still claim the rewards of a participating player. Castle Wars freeloading is similar to Soul Wars freeloading before the update. Pest control teleport scrolls are obtained from all levels of Treasure Trails clues.

The scroll is destroyed when used and teleports the player to Pest control. This only works if the player waits the seconds before going back, so it cannot be used to quickly play again. When players are killed in Soul Wars either by one of the creatures of the battlefield, or by another player , Nomad will protect the player from the hunger of the Soul obelisk and ensure that they are resurrected in the graveyard closest to where they died, provided that the team controls it.

For a few moments, the player will be a purely spectral form and unable to interact with anything, but they will soon be restored to the usual state, along with any equipment they were carrying, with the exception of bones, supplies from the tables, and soul fragments.

Note that the soul fragments will be won by the enemy who killed you; they will be visible to everyone. Because the two graveyards in the main battlefield can be captured, they are valuable resources for getting access to the smaller Slayer monsters, the Soul Obelisk, and the opposing base.

Each base's supply area contains bandages, barricades, and explosive potions, all of which are useful for ensuring the battle favours a particular team. Players cannot trade in Soul Wars using the traditional method, but they may use bandages on their teammates to heal lost life points or give bones, barricades, soul fragments, and explosives to their allies by using each respective item on them. Players may carry as many bandages as they have inventory space.

Players cannot take bandages when they are under attack; the message "You're too busy to be taking bandages now" appears when attempting to do so.

Along with the bandages, players will discover that each supply area contains a table of barricades. Players can only carry one barricade at a time, and the team may only have ten barricades set up at once. They may set up a barricade in many places to hinder the opponents by simply left-clicking it in the inventory. If a barricade is blocking a path, players on both teams cannot walk past it, but they can click manually to walk around it.

They may also attack the barricade s , or use explosives, to remove the obstacle s. Saboteurs see below often set up barricades in their own team's supply area or away from the battlefield in order to handicap their team.

Barricades do not give experience to attackers. Explosive potions can be used on the barricades to destroy them in a single blast. Players can carry as many explosive potions as they have inventory space. It should be noted that each of the tables, excluding the barricade table, has a "take-x" option, allowing players to quickly take a certain amount of items. Players may also use the other team's supply area as well, which helps if there is a need to restock before fighting the avatar.

This feature may be changed by Jagex in the future, similar to what was done with the bandage table in Castle Wars. Clans can generally be distinguished as either; attempting to win continually on a given world by gathering players with high combat skills, attempting to win by 'leeching' calls from higher-levelled clans for an advantage to win free Zeals often called leech clans , or clans attempting to 'crash' a world by winning matches against that world's dominant clan often called crashers.

To help players keep track of all of the useful information, there is a display in the top-right corner of the screen. There are many players in Soul Wars who intentionally don't help their team to win; instead, they actively try to make them lose or simply don't do anything useful at all.

In every Soul Wars game, there used to be a group of people who would just stand around and do nothing, known as "freeloaders". Freeloaders were usually players at a fairly low level wishing to take advantage of the fact that they could perform the equivalent of " afk training ", by only clicking once every three minutes or so to earn experience in combat skills.

This freeloading upset legitimate players as they took the places of people who wanted to play the game properly, giving an advantage to the opposite team. This tactic was similar to players exploiting the fast experience gain in Pest Control when it was first released, with players saying that it was far too easy to train skills within the minigame, a similar complaint made by critics of Soul Wars.

Killing freeloaders was an excellent way to earn combat experience. On 19 May , Jagex added an activity bar to the Soul Wars minigame. If a player does not take part in the game, the bar will go from green to orange, and finally to red, after which the player will be kicked from the game. Consequently, players trap freeloaders in small areas with barricades , to ensure they cannot escape; thus their activity bar will eventually run out, kicking them from the game.

Because of the activity bar, the assortment of freeloaders near the base has been reduced, and, as a result, the amount of Soul Wars players has decreased. Before, some freeloaders used to stay in the supply area and use bandages on teammates, which would replenish half of the activity bar; however, an update was introduced that removes the ability to heal players whom already have full life points.

Players are, however, still able to conduct freeloading by picking up a full inventory of bones and then burying the bones whenever the activity bar gets low.

They can also run into an opposing area to get killed, thus replenishing the activity bar. If the avatar's level is reduced it is often beneficial, though, to have a few people actively burying bones. However, these methods of freeloading take considerably more effort than in the past, as players still have to contribute some sort of activity into the game. Saboteurs known in-game as sabos or sabs are players who play for the opposing team by using the current team's resources such as barricades and explosive potions to slow their own team and make it easier for the opponent to win.

In the supply areas there are often some players similar to freeloaders who hinder their team by setting up many barricades in the entire supply area, mostly in front of the explosive potions, bandages, and barricades. These saboteurs occasionally proceed to start attacking the barricades with magic , ranged , or melee , untruthfully claiming that they gain experience.

Sabotage tactics are sometimes used by clan members who did not make it in to their clan's chosen team or are willing to sacrifice potential Zeal to help their clan win. Blocking: the main goal is to block their team's access to the obelisk by setting up barricades on the bottom or top extreme of their starting side's bridge.

This slows down the players running to the obelisk, and grants the other team higher chances to own it. Clearing: the objective of these is to give easier access to the opponent to vital spots known as 'hotspots' by destroying barricades using commonly explosive potions.

These hotspots can be the obelisk or the avatar. Saboteurs are often looked down upon by "real" players who are trying to win the game. The barricades block and frustrate other team members that are trying to get bandages. Other players trying to set up barricades in strategic locations may not always be able to do so because of the barricade limit. It is possible for a saboteur to lure a player into a corner and trap them with barricades, only to have the player be kicked out for inactivity while they try to destroy the barricades.

This is considered extremely dishonourable, as it withdraws the player from the game and bans them from rejoining despite not having intentionally left. Barricading players is, however, an effective way to get bots kicked from the game, as some bots cannot attack the barricades and become trapped. Some saboteurs choose to block the route from their team's base to their grave, allowing the opposing team to capture it more easily.

This can result in a significant number of players being trapped near their base by mages using Ice Barrage. A clan using large amounts of players for this purpose is generally seen as inefficient, as all players involved only gain one Zeal if successful. The fastest way to counter saboteurs is to use explosive potions on the barricades; however, it may take some time to destroy a barricade that is already in front of the potion table.

This will require one person continually taking potions and using them, as the saboteur s will be likely to persist. Some players choose to complete pyrefiend or jelly Slayer tasks in Soul Wars, as they can gain Zeal while training. To gain maximum experience, they may choose to not use their soul fragments on the obelisk. This means that they fail to contribute to the team, and can potentially help the opposing team if killed.

The most effective strategy to win the game is to simply take control of both graveyards. The opposing team will thus only be able to bury bones in their own base in order to increase the avatars level. This is also effective because the other team will have to run more to re-join the battle upon death, making it harder to keep control of a given area. If the opposing team has control of both of your graveyards, the best thing to do is to get a team of at least three to rush the graveyard that is farthest away your from avatar.

This is because most of the opposing team spawns in the closer graveyard and there will be hardly anyone in the graveyard that is farther away. However, it is often difficult to even get to the other graveyard because white dots will most likely attack anyone attempting to leave.
